The Body Shop Ginger Sparkle Body Butter
Hello my beautiful ladies!
How are your monsoons passing? I am drearily awaiting my winters to wrap me in its cold arms ever-so-snugly! You must be wondering, that why am I awaiting the dry winters when I can have so much in the wet climate of today! But, you wouldn’t understand me if you haven’t used, or even smelled The body shop body butter in Ginger Sparkle! And I am not even kidding!
This was my first product from the body shop—in fact it came to me as a gift from Bhabhi dearest! Bhabhi, this one is for you! :* I received a limited edition Christmas Box which had a total of four products in it—Ginger sparkle (which was their limited edition latest release) body butter being amongst them!
So coming to the actual reviews! Although by now you must have understood what I am going to say! Yay, call me an open book if you want, but I am BAD at concealing things (not my spots and blemishes, though :p)!

Packaging: As I mentioned, it came to me snugly fit in a cute hut shaped Back-to-school Christmas edition box which had cranberries and ginger-bread man carved on it! Real, cuteness!
About the actual product packaging, it comes in this regular The Body Shop-Body butter TUB packaging with a screw-top lid which shuts tightly! The tub is a dirty mustard in hue and has this amazingly adorable cute-little ginger bread man smiling in all its glory. I fell for the packaging the very first time I saw it! On the back is printed the ingredients list, the cost, directions for use in English as well as one other language, which I fail to comprehend given my ignorance for foreign languages!
All in all the packaging is quite sturdy, nothing too heavy and travel friendly as the lid shuts quite tightly and is not prone to opening without notice if screwed properly!
Texture: Like almost all other body butter which I have had encountered till date, the Ginger sparkle too is a bit on the thicker side! I mean, it did not liquify even in the blasted summers of Delhi! The actual product is a very pretty but light yellowish-orangish mix of shade and blends like butter; pun intended!
The product is not at all sticky—and this coming from a moisturizer-hater is a big thing! I hate products that give even the tiniest bit of shine to my skin—and Body shop exceeds in this department. Once blended, it seeps deep into the layers of your skin and does not show up as anything extra on the skin!
Fragrance: Ok, firstly I am REAL bad when it comes to explaining fragrances, and to be honest, I abhorred the very SMELL of the ginger sparkle body butter when I opened it for the very first time back in January 2015! But that was me just being naive, I guess! 😛 Maybe I was looking out for a girly fragrance, and it did not appease me being quite neutrally uni-sexual!
I do not remember when this hatred turned to adoration and I became a religious user of the butter! The fragrance is of a very zest, warm-toned ginger which is really very soothing especially for the winter months (hence, the Christmas edition)! It did seem too strong for my senses at that juncture of time, but now, it smells really well, and dare I say—aesthetically pleasing! Try it!
My Experience: I generally do not use moisturizing lotions, dreading severe breakouts die to excess oil on my skin—but this very product changed my notion of moisturization! No, moisturizers do not necessarily add that unwanted shine to your face, at least Ginger Sparkle Body Butter doesn’t!
I am not a day-moisturizer kind of a person; instead I apply my moisturizer at night before going to sleep! And really, I felt the difference in my skin’s suppleness, well withing the first month of regular application.
It was a perception-changer product for me, in the true sense!
What I like about The Body Shop Ginger Sparkle Body Butter?
- Ultra-cute packaging
- Thick moisturizer
- Non-girly zesty ginger fragrance
- Does not make the skin greasy
- Intensely moisturizing
What I do not like about The Body Shop Ginger Sparkle Body Butter?
I do not find any con with this product, but if you are like the Ishleen of the past, you might have a problem with the unique fragrance! The deal is that, either you’ll love it to bits—or simply hate it till the world’s end! Its black and white, no grey in between! ☺
Will I recommend: Oh god, yes! ☺
