My Experience with The Body Shop “Limited Edition†Cranberry Joy Shower Gel
Packaging: If you read my last post, you know that it came to me snugly fit in a cute hut shaped Back-to-school Christmas edition box which had cranberries and ginger-bread man carved on it. Real, cuteness!
So coming to the actual product packaging, the shower gel comes in a cute plastic bottle with a nozzle cap which has a screw lid for the product outlet. The bottle is transparent, and has this really adorable cranberries and sweet little snow-flake splattered all over the place. The cap shuts tight, but is a little prone to breakage.
I mean the small area which connects the cap to the screw lid, is really soft, and broke the first time i tried opening it (with a bit of pressure, of course). Other than that the cap fits in tightly and there is no chance of leakage. I was so heartbroken at having broken my very first shower gel from Body Shop! *sulk*
I would not comment on it being travel friendly, because I, for one, do not travel with my shower gels. 😛 Jokes apart! If you are packing this with you for a trip, i believe that it will behave and not create a gloopy mess in your packed vanity.
Fragrance: Remember how i had fallen in a love-hate relationship with my previous ginger sparkle shower gel and body butter? The good thing about The Body Shop Limited Edition Cranberry Joy Shower Gel is that this baby did not made me even lean towards hatred for a fraction of a second i sniffed it once; and it was adoration at the first sniff literally! The fragrance of the gel is so much like real berries infused with loads of vanilla but nothing too overbearing! I love using it in combination with my Cranberry Joy Body Butter which was again a part of the body shop limited edition Christmas range; and the end result is that I smell of berries for a good 5-6 hours even in Delhi’s unbearably hot summers! Isn’t that just a miraculous thing to happen especially to a sweaty person like me? 😛
Color: Coming to the shade of the shower gel, it comes in this very pretty reddish-pink kind of a shade! Basically, it seems a bit on the neutral side when taken out of the bottle, but in the bottle it appears to have a bright reddish-cranberry-pink kind of a colour to it.
Texture: Like most shower gels from the house of The Body Shop, the Limited Edition Cranberry Joy shower gel is neither too thick nor too runny in consistency. It works perfectly well with the loofah that comes in the Back-to-school Christmas edition set! It lathers quite well and leaves an amazing lingering sensation!
Just what I need on a cold winter morning; when all I can think of is red velvet cupcakes with oodles of cranberry frosting! Ok, it is just me being lusty over the winter delicacies for now! 😛
My Take: If you remember any of my last ginger sparkle body butter and shower gel reviews, you might remember how I abhorred the repulsive taste the ginger sparkle body wash left behind in my mouth! Yes, that horrible, horrible taste! But things did not seem to improve with the cranberry joy shower gel either! Though seriously, I was expecting a sweet, berry taste to linger behind in my mouth continuing with the Christmas theme! But, less did i know that soap was soap, and it was not meant to taste sweet.
I know I am silly to expect a sweet taste from a thing which is not meant to be tasted in the first place! But trust me, the fragrance would want even the sanest of the lot to taste it just once!
But with time things changed, and i started to realize that it was an amazing product, and apart from the indecent soapy taste which it leaves behind in my mouth, it works pretty well for the rest of my body. No, i did not see any miraculous transformations in my skin while using this, but it indeed is a good every-day winter shower gel.
What I like about The Body Shop Limited Edition Cranberry Joy Shower Gel?
- Cute packaging

- Works well with a loofah
- Cute colour of the gel
- Exclusive smell
- The fragrance can be layered using the body butter along with the shower gel
- Lathers really well

What I don’t like about The Body Shop Limited Edition Cranberry Joy Shower Gel?
- I find it a bit expensive for the quantity, given that it does not do anything miraculous for the skin

Will i recommend?: Yes, I definitely will! It is one of those must have girly fragrances from body shop which none of your feminine senses should miss!
