The Balm NUDE’ tude- Nude Eyeshadow Palette Review
The Balm’s paraben and cruelty-free products have been recognized and loved worldwide. They are famous for their Bahama Mama- bronzer, shadow and contour powder and Mary- Lou Manizer- highlighter, shadow and shimmer. They are a classic when it comes to giving creative names and packaging to their products. So, I decided to try their NUDE’tude- Nude eye shadow palette, which has been compared to Urban Decay’s NAKED palette. Keep on reading for my take on this palette.
Price– INR 2599 for 11.08 gm
Availability– Nykaa, Flipkart, Amazon etc.
Claims– This amazing palette consists of 12 beautiful shadows that make wearing nudes sexy! These satiny smooth colors can be applied naturally, i.e. let me slip into something more comfortable or beautifully layered. Also the wide range gives you light highlighters as well as brazen bold shades that work to add definition and emphasis to your lids. Nude’tude allows you to dramatically dress up your eyes as if nothing else!
How to use- First of all, prep your eye area with some eye shadow primer for maximum pigment, blendability and longevity.
Packaging– It comes in a handy, slip on cover that resembles a chocolate bar. Also the palette itself closes on a magnet and contains a mirror and a small duo slanted brush. Furthermore, the color pans themselves are cleverly placed as censor boxes on the models chest and waist areas. The colors are apparently named after models characteristics. Certainly I would like to recommend the balm for their eye-catching, creative packaging on this one.
Lets come to the main part.
- Sassy- Frosted white
- Stubborn- Frosted, muted pink
- Selfish- Frosted taupe
- Sophisticated- Warm, dark brown with bronze shimmers
- Sexy- Matte, brownish maroon
- Serious- Matte black
- Snobby- Shimmery light yellow
- Stand-offish- Frosted, bronzy peach
- Sultry- Matte sand
- Seductive- Warm, golden bronze
- Silly- Muted brown with gold speckles of glitter. Hence, this color is not that pigmented.
- Sleek- Matte black brown
My experience with The balm Nude’tude eyeshadow palette
All the colors are beautiful and pigmented. Also their consistency is very light-weight, buttery and creamy, leading to easy blendability. Seems like the shade Silly out of all was a little sheer and required two swatches to get fully opaque.
Almost all the colors are complimentary to each other and can be used together to create many different neutral, nude eye looks. Also my personal favorites from this palette are Selfish and Seductive as these are quite unique and can be used with almost any other color. Consequently, the brush, in my opinion is not very useful for blending out the eye shadows on the lid but being slanted can be effective in smoking out the lower lash-line. Hence, I used the smaller slanted brush and Sleek to fill in my eyebrows and Sassy as a brow bone highlight (definitely a very versatile palette!)
What I like about The Balm NUDE’ tude- Nude Eyeshadow Palette?
- Sleek and handy packaging
- Good application- not a lot of fall-out
- Highly pigmented
- Blends easily
- Many colors to choose from
What I didn’t like about The Balm NUDE’ tude- Nude Eyeshadow Palette?
- Too pricey
- Sleek is the odd-one out
