Eyes help us to see the beautiful nature created by god and fills our world with colors. Eyes help us to say the things which we at times cannot say in words. Eyes are the most expressive part in our body. Eyes define our beauty.
But do we generally take our eyes for granted??? Ask the importance of eyes to the blind person who cannot see at all.. or ask yourself when you are suffering from serious eye disease. We do everything to save our skin from aging process n allÃ¢â‚¬Â¦ but why do we ignore eyes??? Simple precautions can make a huge difference later in life.
Eye care is generally what we ignore and itÃ¢â‚¬â„¢s the high time we should start caring for them, our vital body organ. Here I am going to discuss few eye daily care remedies, donÃ¢â‚¬â„¢ts and few exercises which will help you to retain your healthy eyesight.
Home Remedies for healthy eye sight and tips to improve eye sight naturally
1)Walk bare foot on dew-laden grass early morning for about 10-15 minutes this helps in improving your eyesight.
2)Every morning after waking up, fill your mouth with cold water i.e normal water in your mouth and splash water on the eyes 20-30 times. This leads to a better blood circulation in the eyes.
3)Add Â½ water to triphala powder and mix well. Rinse your eyes well with this mix every morning.
4)Include vital vitamins in your daily diet like- Vitamin A this prevents night blindness
Source of vitamin A carrot, apricot, turnip, green leafy vegetables like spinach, broccoli.
Vitamin C- reduces risk of glaucoma and mascular degeneration
Source of Vitamin C orange, lemon, papaya, tomato, cantaloupe, strawberry, mango, broccoli, amla(gooseberry)
Vitamin E- reduces risks of cataract
Source of Vitamin E- almonds, sunflower seeds and oil, peanuts, vegetable oil, whole grains, sweet potatoes, wheat germ, mayonnaise.
5)Soak cotton pads in rosewater. Close your eyes and place these pads over your eyes for about 10 minutes. This instantly refreshes your eyes.
6)Soak 5 almonds overnight and in the morning peel them and grind them with coarsely with black pepper or sugar and chew well.
7)Carefully rinse your eyes at least 2-3 times a day.
Precautions to protect your eyes
1)Do not expose your eyes too much in the ultra violet light of the sun. Wear proper eyeglasses or sunglasses to protect them.
2)Do not stare continuously at your TV sets or computer monitors. This will make your eyes dry so constantly keep blinking them in between.
3) Protect your eyes from dust, smoke, strong sunlight and strong wind. Avoid staying long in such conditions.
4)Try to maintain regular and clean bowel movements. Constipation weakens the eyesight.
5)Do not look at the objects in bright sunlight for a long time. Avoid reading, writing or working with eyes in improper light, or when the light is not sufficient. Take a break and give rest to the eyes if you feel heaviness or tiredness in the eyes.
6)People with obesity or who are diabetic should have more routine checkups since they are more likely to develop certain eye diseases.
7)Take special care while selecting your sunglasses and while wearing lenses. Consult your doctor for better and hygiene and care of lenses.
Eye exercises to improve eye sight
1)Sit straight and raise your right arm to shoulder level. Now clench your fingers into a fist keeping the thumb out and facing upwards. Keep the arm in line with your eyes , look at the thumb without blinking. Hold this posture as long as you can and then move your right arm towards your right but keep your eyes on the thumb. Do not turn your face. Follow the thumbs path through your eyes only. when you are not able to see the thumb anymore bring it back to the original position and relax your eyes and repeat the same procedure with your other hand. Do this 2 times on each hand.
2)Raise your arm to eye level and again clench your fingers into a fist keeping the thumb out and facing upwards. Now bend your arm at the elbows, so that your thumb comes closer to your eyes in a vertical position. Keep your eyes fixed on the thumb and bring it close to your nose, till you feel a strain and then return to its original position slowly, still keeping your eyes fixed on it. Close your eyes and relax. Repeat this 2 times.
3)Look at the tip of your nose your face and neck should remain straight and only your eyes only should move. Then, close your eyes and let them rest for a minute. Open your eyes and try to focus on the spot between your eyebrows, again close your eyes and rest for a minute. Repeat twice.
4)Move the eyeball – right and left; upwards and downwards and rotating it in the clockwise and anti-clockwise directions.
5)Rub the palms of both hands for about 30 seconds, close the eyes and gently place the warm palms over the eyes. It is also most important for preserving the eyesight. Palming also has a beneficial, relaxing effect on your nervous system.
6)Close your eyes as tightly as you possibly can. Really squeeze the eyes, so the eye muscles contract. Hold this contraction for three seconds, and then let go quickly.
-This exercise causes a deep relaxation of the eye muscles, and is especially beneficial after the slight strain caused by the eye exercises. Blink the eyes a few times.
7)Open and shut your eyes slowly at first and then in quick session, as if blinking very fast. Repeat this 25-20 times and then close your eyes and allow them to rest for 2 minutes.
P.S – DonÃ¢â‚¬â„¢t strain your eyes while doing these exercises and your facial muscles should be calm and not tense. While doing these exercises avoid direct contact with light and in general too. Cover your eyes in too bright surroundings.
People suffering from certain eye diseases should consult their doctors before going for any remedy or exercise.
