So, how is the week going on? I recently got a new eye shadow palette for myself. And I am really excited to try some basic eye makeup with the coming festivals. Today I am here to share some of the basic things about eye shadows. For someone like me who has grown through the years with WiseShe learning basics of makeup. First of all I am sharing the basic question of every makeup novice as to what eye shadow to pick and what types are available in the first place?

Eye shadows are in different formulations, packaging and the way to use each of these eye shadows is slightly different from the other and you must be aware of the types first to let you decide what eye shadow you would love to have in your makeup vanity!
Pressed Powder Shadow
The most basic eye shadow you will find in any makeup lover’s collection is the pressed powder eye shadow! This comes in basically single shades as well as palettes. As the name implies it is mainly a powder based eye shadow pressed into a compact shape of pan (round, square, rectangle etc.)

The thing is these are loose pigments in the container and it is not pressed so a little is enough to apply on the eyes. You can use a flat eye brush to apply this product on the eyes very lightly so you do not go overboard with the pigment. These come in a wide range of shades and fit to be used dry or wet.
Also make sure you apply a little loose face powder beneath the eyes so when you are done with applying the loose pigments, you can simply brush off the particles which fell on your under-eye area in the process.

These are more of an extension of the line of eye makeup products and is useful for those who are not very much into elaborate eye makeup but want a quick fix of eye makeup which doesn’t take much time and perfection.
There are eye shadow sticks in almost all major brands. These are creamy textured eye shadow sticks which are easy to glide on the eyes without going over the top with the application. You can use a blending brush to blend such stick eye shadow on the eyes or your fingers would also be perfect to gently dab and blend the color onto eye lids!
