  1. I think you are using foundation with too much pink undertones which is making you look white. And, even foundations that are 2-3 shades lighter than yours. Finding the RIGHT SHADE of foundation is a daunting task. I learnt to chose the right shade of foundation after 4-5 wrong times and based on my experiece, if you are willing to afford, You can go to MAC. The MUA’s there are really trained.

There are many tips on this blog for finding the right shade of foundation ๐Ÿ™‚

  2. I agree with henna, MAC is really good. You should ask the SA to try the foundation on your face before buying it. As for the dark spots, you should get a good concealer probably from Kryolan or MAC.

  3. See, your problem`s very common and nearly all of us have gone through it in our ‘beginner in makeup’ days. ๐Ÿ˜›
    You are either :
Using a shade 2-3 shades lighter than your skintone
You have tanned recently which makes the shade you brought previously look whiter on you
Your foundation has high spf and you are using a sunscreen beneath
You are using the wrong undertones. You need yellow undertones. Try mac nc 40-45 it should go on your skintone – definitely get it matched at the mac store.
Use foundation with a lighter hand , dont put too much on your face
If you dont have much to conceal , just use concealer (your shade ) on the spots to hide them , a lighter concealer shade underneath your eyes , to highlight the area , set with some translucent (adds no color ) powder , and you are set. You dont even need foundation then.

    • Hi,
I have a similar problem. As you mentioned it could be the sunscreen and then the foundation with SPF on the top. But I have skin sensitive skin, so much so that I get freckles and sun spots and have been recommended by dermatologists to apply sunscreen religiously.
What should I do? Apply sunscreen and opt for SPF Free foundation?

  4. I understand you are new at foundations…try out Lotus Purestay range..i think Royal Ivory should suit you, its got yellow tones …
