Why go Organic?

We all know organic food is good for health as it doesn’t contain any pesticides but that is not motivating enough to go for it. When ever I visit Fab India I ignore the organic section this is because I am not motivated enough for it.
But recently I read in a magazine about many other benefits which makes them worth a buy.
1. Organic food has more amount of vitamin C and minerals when compared to their conventional counterparts.
2. Animal products which are organic are rich in poly-saturated fatty acids which fight against heart disease.
3. We are now more aware and concerned too about our kids. Nowadays as we are surrounded with harmful pesticides with food being coloured or waxed it is important to use only organic food for infants. Non organic food can be so harmful that it increases the risk of cancer too.
4. Organic food is known to contain 50 percent more nutrients, minerals, vitamins and calcium.
5. As organic food is natural it do not kills the nutrients which are present in fruits and vegetables.
We all can easily shift to organic but the price of organic food is almost double and there are various reasons behind it.
First of all as the demand of the food is less,  farmers do not prefer them and so we end up relying on imported product. If each of us start buying some of organic food then demand can boost up which will encourage many farmers to adopt it.
Also we can easily grow some of organic food in our home also. Like lady finger, ginger, squash, curry leaves and many other things can be grown which can at least contribute some healthy things in our life.
We do not mind paying so much on restaurant food but instead why don’t buy some organic and save ours and future generation health. Every day we hear someone or the other diagnosed  with cancer though they were never into smoking or drinking. What is the reason behind it? One of the main reason is that out life is full of pesticides . We start our morning by drinking milk/tea which is not pure and end up having fruit and vegetables which are not organic
Include one fruit and vegetable.Let us all increase the demand and lower its prices and give future generation a better and a healthy life.

  1. GREAT POST *applause*

the bf and me are doing our very best to buy organic products and we also grow stuff at home like tomatoes, strawberries, peppers, figs, blueberries and all kind of herbs! It's so nice to pick your food straight out of your own backyard and you really taste the difference!

Food nowadays is so ruined by fabrics, pesticides and what else,
we choose to live as natural as possible and I hope lots of others will do so too!

It might be a bit more expensive but it's worth it, we definitely feel better about ourselves
buying and growing natural/organic products and in the long run we believe it's more healthy.

  16. Oh I can imagine. A flat is nice too but there just less space for plants, you have a balcony?
Tomatoes would do good and you should do herbs in the kitchen!
