Makeup love can take you to heights. From the monochrome look to the unicorn highlight, everything in 2017 is touching the level of insanity. And the latest addition to them is the yellow makeup trend. Yes, you heard me right. That line ‘Yellow, yellow dirty fellow’ is all gone now and ‘yellow’ is the latest pink of the year. And all thanks to Instagram!
Blush was losing its value with all the hush-hush taken by contour and highlighters. Even some people forgot about the blush but latest trends are getting that flush of glow back into fashion with a new twist.
Yellow eyeshadow was already making the trendsetter for the upcoming summers. The eyeshadow surpassed the usual crease area and even went lower the lashes into the under eye area. Eye-popping to the core! But according to makeup artists, the colour has such a universal appeal that it shouldn’t be concentrated to only eyes. We all have that yellow tinge to our skin and a blush that is yellow or has a yellow hue will only add the natural flush of colour to it.
The yellow blush trend is following the Draping Technique – another long lost way to apply a product. Draping is a  method which consists of brushing the blush or shadow onto the natural bone structure to drape/manipulate the shape of the face. This method gives a two-dimensional look to the overall face – pretty and alien. Also, this yellow hue helps to contour along the eyes and even lower the cheekbones.
And if you thought, this is the end of the story then think again. My Instagram feed is nowadays also featuring bright yellow lip colours which are matching to those yellow cheeks on add on to the Monochrome look trend.
Many Instagram beauties and bloggers are trying out this trend in their own way and are turning heads with this look. Be it pink, coral or taupe, the best news for us is that our old school blush is making its way back into our makeup vanity with all new zeal. Get ready to flaunt those pretty flushed cheeks this upcoming seasons!
Till then, stay beautiful!
